Hello. I'm Craig Cassidy, owner and general manager of German Motors. At
German Motors, our goal is to provide you with the best service, repair, and
restoration of German automobiles that you have ever experienced.

On our
Home page you will see our commitment to our customers. I arrived at
these principles after working 20 years in the auto repair business. During that
time, I worked at both dealerships and independent repair shops. One of the
reasons I wanted to start my own shop is to build a friendlier and more
personal relationship with my customers. In a large dealership there is no
personal contact between the customer and the person performing the repairs.
This sometimes creates communications gap where things can go wrong. For example, a BMW owner
came to me recently complaining about an oil leak. He had gone to a dealership with a leaking right
engine gasket and asked to have both the right and left gaskets replaced. The dealer replaced the right,
but only tightened the left. The car still leaked after he got it back. Somewhere between his asking to
have both gaskets replaced and the dealer deciding not to, his request was not honored.

I decided I would not run my shop that way. When customers come to German Motors, I write down
their request and go over it with them carefully. When a customer has an issue, no matter how small, it
won’t be swept under the rug. What’s a “small” issue? Well, a rattle, a squeak, or maybe some loose
trim. They may not be important to how the car runs, but they become something the owner focuses
on. The customer paid good money for the car and their expectations are high. Little things like that can
spoil their enjoyment.

While I have worked on all types of cars, I decided to focus on German cars because of their history–-a
Mercedes-Benz was the first car ever built-–as well as their quality. German car engineering just makes
sense. When you open the hood of a BMW or Mercedes, it’s obvious the designers thought about
making the car easy to service and repair. I find German car engineering logic very appealing.

I’m Mercedes-Benz factory trained and certified. This certification is something you can only acquire
by working for an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. I’m trained on all Mercedes-Benz cars through
year 2001 models and I'm also ASE (
Automotive Service Excellence) certified. I have performed
extensive work on BMWs (I own one!), Audis, and Porsches. Getting back to that German design
sensibility–all of these automobiles share a design philosophy. To me they all have a mystique, but very
little mystery. That gives me the confidence I need both to work on them myself and to know who else
is good at working on them.

Over the years, I started taking on another, very enjoyable role: car matchmaker. When customers
decide to sell their older cars to get new (or newer) ones, I often know other customers who wish to
purchase the make and model they want to sell. Because I have serviced the car, I know its history.
This creates a win-win-win situation: a win for the seller because they avoid the hassle of private car
sales, a win for the purchaser because they know the exact condition and history of the car they are
getting, and a win for me, because I make two customers happy. This has lead me to develop a sales
side to German Motors. Visit our
Cars page to see what's in our current inventory. If you are thinking
about purchasing or selling a car, give me a call. Perhaps I can match you up with another customer!
